Lean condition -Not enough fuel, too much air. Hence when you give it gas, it smooths out. You have a leak somewhere on the right bank.

Time to break out the smoke machine..

If you are at 100,000 miles switch out all 4 02's, clear the codes and see what is left if anything.
Just finished putting everything back together after replacing the head gaskets . New plugs and wires. I haven't had it tuned and it probably never has been.

New plugs get here Monday so I see what it does.

Ok I think I fixed the vacumm leak... maybe not. But I cleared the codes and now

P1590 (3 amigos are on)
P0150 - sensor circuit bank 2 sensor 1
P0141 - heater circuit bank 1 sensor 2
P0161 - heater circuit bank 2 sensor 3

Is it possible I fried my catalytic converters?

If you have O2 sensor problems your engine will run bad - period.
O2 sensors are critical for fuel / air mixture ratio.
If they are bad, then you are running off of a fuel map in the ECU which
is like having a carb in a way.

You gotta MAN UP and replace them.
Yes it will hurt financially. But, you bought a rover, remember?

Get them from Amazon for about $60 each.
Bosch.

That will be about $240.

On my D1 - I had to replace all 4 twice - due to antifreeze taking them out
and taking out the cats..

They're coming in the mail Monday hopefully. Scored all 4 from a friend for only $80. I'm praying to the land rover gods that the cats are ok... I might need to sacrifice a Honda to appease them.

Congrats man, that's a great feeling. Your last project to get rid of the three amigos will be a walk in the park!

I have a 2003 DII. Has about 120K. Went to dealer, they did engine analyze and it came up front drivers O2 sensor was weak and gas cap was leaking. Got an estimate on tune up and O2 replacement (4). Way too much for my budget!! Ordered parts from Atlantic British. Replaced "weak" sensor. How do I clear the code so "service engine soon" lihgt goes out?

The proper way is to connect a scan tool to the OBD2 port under your steering wheel and clear the codes with that or you can disconnect the battery and leave it undone for a few mins then reconnect. That should clear the code. If the light comes back after driving around for a few minutes the problem is still there(or an entirely new one)
