Default OBD2 Port not working.

Hi there,
New here and new to the Land Rover Disco 2.
Purchased an OBD2 scan tool, plugged it into the OBD2 port, worked fine for that reading. Unplugged it, two days later I plugged it back in and it didn't work. It seems as though I'm not getting any power to the port.
Anyone have any ideas where I should look? I just installed an Inline Thermostat setup from Extinct and I was going to pick up an Ultragauge to monitor but with the port not working, well, you get my drift.

Meter the OBD2 Port pin #16 for power.

Check Fuse 20 (15A) in fuse box under steering wheel area. Then check Fuse Link FL3 (50A) in engine bay fuse box.

Thanks for reaching out Juke. As per your suggestion, I just checked those, fuse 20 under the steering wheel is good and there is power across the Fuse Link FL3 under the hood as well.
This is starting to get pretty frustrating. I was able to check engine temps off the OBD2 port with the stock Thermostat then as soon as I changed out to the Inline Thermostat the Port died...
Now I can't check how much of an improvement the Inline Stat gave me... Argh!
Thanks for the help, I'll keep trudging along. When or if I find something I'll post it.

If what Juke said checks out I'd remove the lower black kick panel and check the wiring at the back of the OBD2 Port itself.

Did you have truck out in the rain between working and not working? If you search there are several threads on water causing the port to fail. Usually due to rain entering the dash area from the cowl or windshield seal.

Hey Best4x4, that's probably a good idea, I did a cursory check there before I did anything else, everything looked good but maybe I should check it again. You know, with a fresh set of eyes.

The answer to your question dswilly is no. I really wish that it would have gotten wet from rain, I live in Central Oregon and we could really use some rain right now, we're surrounded by forest fires. The truck has been inside my shop for the last week or so.

So, it's still a mystery. I had my scan dongle plugged into the OBD2 port for several days, no light on scanner. Been driving the truck daily, no light. About 4 days ago I noticed the light was on (scan dongle getting power), was able to record stats! No idea what happened, I'm thrilled that it seems to be working but I'm not very excited about climbing back under the dash to figure out why, as it is very hot here and I'm tall. lol
So for right now, I'm going to pretend everything is A-OK. I know that is reactive and not proactive but sometimes you just got to say enough for now, I'll put it on my list.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice, tips, and thoughts. There will come a day that I discover what the problem was, is. I'll keep you posted.
