Default Odd battery light

So had battery light come on as we drive. Battery is older. Got it checked and cranking amps was down to 530. Also thought it might be loose cables. Put brand new battery on. Got cables tightened and have battery light from startup. AutoZone said alternator was pushing out good. Any ideas out there?

Get yourself one of these if you have Lidl in the US, cheap as chips to buy.

They tell you the condition and charge of the battery and the charging of the alternator. Quick and easy to use.

Steady battery light when happened to me was dead alternator. On and off light in some condition is just a loose grounding from body or alternator connections. Sometimes on/off just cures itself and its weird. LOL!

Alternator went. Replaced, works great again!!!

Noticed lights were super bright.

On a side note, I changed the serpentine belt. I had a factory belt on it, I bought a dayco, the engine is super quiet again.

221,000 miles.
