Default OEM Roof Bar Extentions? Worth it or Nah?

Saw some roof bar extensions in the yard today, are they worth getting? I’d love a safari rack but I doubt I’ll find one for a price I’d be comfortable paying. Not planning on ever doing a RTT

The extensions would let me do cross bars and a more generic basket setup..

Thoughts?

After the work and the extra pairs of crossbars you will probably be in a few hundred. Save a few more hundred and track down an affordable rack.

Opinions vary, naturally, but if a pair showed up in a boneyard near me I would do my best to get them.

Was looking at a changing these over last night, from 01 to 03, but ran out of go-juice. If l remember correctly, you can simply remove the rear molding along the rear hatch and the plastic pieces around the side windows and the headliner will drop down enough in the rear to drill holes and attach extensions.

Me, l like the extensions...allows for inexpensive rack system.

Just saw a post on facebook, and a guy got this same rack for 84 bucks...l paid a buck twenty five. It's worked out great for me, although, did add some plastic grating to the floor...which made loading stuff easier. Got tired of kneeling on the small tubes, plus...my 245 lbs carcass was bending the tubes some. Plastic grating spread the weight out some.
