oil change problem

that bolt is the oil drain plug bolt right? well i cant take it off with my 1/2inch socket drive because that pipe to the left of it gets in the way. i tried using an adjustable wrench but i stripped the bolt a bit so i stopped. righty tighy leftly loosey right? disco mike, what kind of oil and oil filter do u recommend? the engine has 109,000 miles. thanks for your help.

How long is the socket that you are using? I have no problems removing my drain plug.
Put the socket on the plug and then put the rachet on the socket.
And yes, righty tighty lefty losey.
I bought a boxed end wrench to fit mine, alot easier that way.
