Default Oil Change & Service: Consumables?

Time for a service for the Old Girl- 1st time since leaving dealer care in the Land of the Rising Sun (and they sure looked after her well).

Since she's 40k miles on the clock, and was last serviced (according to the Japanese service door sticker, I figure) 35k miles, 5k interval is a good service interval, right?

Here in Paradise, Caribbean, the local stealership is a ripoff. Independent mechanic is knowledgeable, and he already has a RAVE I gave him. All consumeables have to be shipped in (apart from oils etc), so I would really appreciate a "shopping list" of consumables that I can order from (say) British Atlantic- filters mostly, I assume?. I would also appreciate a short list of things for the mechanic to look at while he's doing a service.

First of all, oil changes should be every 3000 miles not 5000, these engines foul out oil way to fast.
What do you have a choice from as far as oil filter brand go?

Mike- pretty much whatever can be shipped out of the States to me in the Caribbean. The big expense is the actual shipping costs (weight and bulk).

For your type of low mileage any oil is good by me, oil filters, K&N 3001 and Mobil 1 are the better ones.
How about your hoses and belts, I know you don't have many miles but rubber rots.
If you could find a couple of good bottles of gas additive, it would sure help your truck, SeaFoam, Chevrons Tecctron, B&G's 44K any would be great.
