Default Oil leak question

Crawling around under my Disco this afternoon I noticed it was leaking oil from a large bolt that screws into what I believe is the front cover of the engine. The bolt is right next t the oil filter housing and faces the ground at the very front of the motor. It almost looks like a plug of some kind. I'm fairly new to Rovers, and I have no idea what it is. I know that when I cleaned the whole area up and run the motor, it leaks from the threads around that large bolt.

What is it, and how do I get it to stop leaking?

Not sure what makes them leak, but here is what it is. Look at the large bolt on the bottom of the timing chain cover beside the oil pump. Might be the bolts on the cover loosen or oil gets past the cover gasket.

Ok, found a couple posts on this topic after trying multiple search phrases.

Pulled the plug (it was finger tight) cleaned the plug and o-ring. Put some Teflon thread tape on the plug, tightened it back up. No more leak. Two for two today.

You guys are the best.

that plug and the one above the filter are for oil cooler. Mine was finger tight and missing o-ring. I decided to purchase a oil cooler and lines off eBay, got a brand new cooler for cheap and a set of lines. Install went smooth and now have oil cooler and no leaks. There have been members that drill and tap one of those plugs for oil pressure gauge.
