Well, the plugs in the engine for oil cooler lines. His truck has no cooler, but some did. It is like the tranny cooler and goes at the bottom of the radiator, not built in like the D1. So those plugs can leak, they must be designed by the same guy who did the valve covers on D1s.

I like my oil cooler... I also like my transmissions cooler... I think if I didn't have my oil cooler my engine would over heat constantly.

Most vehicles don't have a separate engine oil cooler. My F250 and Mercedes get by with just a tranny cooler, as do newer D2's.

Does anyone have pictures of where these plugs are located so I can confirm that is where the leak is from. I noticed that the pressure sender is in that area also, I'm wondering if that might be leaking also.

I would like some updates on this as well. I have a leak that soaks the oil filter and would like to track it down. Thanks

Bad oil pressure sending unit, it cracks and leaks, AutoZone sells them.
Mine was like $15, but that was 4 years ago.

Is this a common problem on the D2s as well? Guess I should add a sig, even though this is not my vehicle.

IMHO - if you are going about testing or replacing the oil pressure switch, do a mechanical oil pressure test hot and cold, idle and 2500 rpm; to verify operation of oil pump. Spec for D2 from RAVE:

Pressure at idle - minimum 0.7 bar (10 lbf.in2)
Pressure at 2000 rev/min (hot) 3.4 bar (50 lbf.in2)
Relief valve opening pressure 3.4 bar (50 lbf.in2)
Low oil pressure switch opening pressure 0.24-0.41 bar (3.5-6.0 lbf.in2)

Oil pump can be cracked, make a tick, and still pump, just not enough, so you wear out engine at a much faster rate.
