Hey guys, thought I'd pull the oil pan off to take another look and see if I can find my oil leak. After my last post I was told that I needed to check the PCV and the crucifix seals. After taking the oil pan off the crucifix seals look to be in good condition but upon examining the gasket it looks like it's not doing its job. It seems to me that the top of the gasket next to the transmission is quite thin being on top of the crucifix seals were my oil leak is. I'm curious to know why there are random holes in my oil pan gasket that appeared to have no use. They're not bolt holes or guide pins. Just random holes made of some type of metal. I believe they are what may be causing my oil
leak. Thinking of using just ultra black RTV. What are your guys's thoughts?
There are metal washers embedded in the rubber there. It's normal, they all have the holes. I'm guessing part of manufacturing process. Just make sure none of the washer are missing. I got a gasket with one washer gone and cracked the oil pan.
