Exclamation Oil pan problem!

Ok guys I am doing a half rebuild on my rover(99 disco 2). I'm doing the head gaskets and timing cover and oil pan for now. However my rover is apart and I'm having problems with my oil pan. I took all of the visible bolts out(including the ones on the bell housing), however I can't get the pan to break loose. The front of the pan has a very small amount of play in it so I know that end is ok. But the trans end isn't moving at all.

So if anyone could help me out before I just start beating on it with a hammer and breaker bar that would be great.

Thanks

As long as all the bolts are out take a flat head screw driver and stil it between the pan and the block and start prying it loose working your way all the way around.

I would recommend using a gasket scraper or wide putty knife instead of a screw driver. The screw driver will not flex, and could potentially score the pan or block, causing a leak issue down the road.
