Oil Pressure Test - Thread Size or Link to Fitting for Plug?
Hi,
I've managed to get the lower oil pump plug (plug just above oil filter) off with a 7/8 socket - might actually be 22mm, but whatever.
I found that the oil pressure test kit I have doesn't have a fitting big enough for the threading here - does anyone know what size is needed or does anyone have a link to a fitting that they know works?
Thank you

Thanks man, I’m just unable to find an adapter to use that plug to test pressure... I think I have to try the oil pressure switch location since I understand that M12 x 1.5 and apparently the gauge I’ve got has that adapter. Does anyone know what size socket takes that off? 7/8? Getting in there tomorrow. Also anyone know the best way to get the oil reassure switch out? Couldn’t figure out the clip before...
Going down this road to try to see if the oil pump is ok... 2003 D2 with over 145,000 miles - unsure if it’s the original motor - VIN within serious oil pump issues.
Doing water pump, Extinct’s thermostat modification and power steering pump. Looks like you’d have to pull the water pump to deal with oil pump so hoping I don’t have to do that... although I’ve heard say that it better be done. A guide I read on that looked pretty involved - bit nervous about all that, lots of parts, lots of inspection and doing things just so.
This is gnarly work for me - at least trying to get into some of right areas where the oil pump is without removing anything else. I don’t think the other pumps will be so bad. I’ve managed some things on this vehicle so far but barely and plenty of struggling, confusion, frustration and swearing. Swearing helped a bit. Forum helps a ton.
