Hey everyone, getting ready to remove my oil separator and replace it with a new one along with the 2 new hoses for it. Are there any tricks to removing the separator...? does it unscrew out or does it just pull out of the sleeve it sits in on the valve cover... thanks

 

It is supposed to just pull out. When I changed mine the other year, it snapped in half, and I had to remove the remaining part with a 90* pick.

 

Very small pair of needle nose pliars.

 

Thanks for the heads up.... I tried to remove it today with my fingers but she seems to be frozen pretty good. Mike, I am going to try your idea you gave me over the phone as to using carb cleaner to get her cleaned out. I have never done the sea foam treatment to this vehicle as I did on my other one last year. That might help things out as well. Thanks for the info to both of you.

 

Good luck. Mine was stuck in there. I used a center punch and hammer and drove it out.... of course, this was during my rebuild so the valve cover was already off. I wouldn't recommend doing it with it still on!
