See the picture attached here. Noticed this about 2 weeks ago or so. It does not seem to be getting any worse. Motor runs exceptionally. Does not use oil or coolant. Currently has a CEL for P1170, which is an O2/ fuel trim related code.
What would you do as next steps to identify the fluid and do further diagnostics?
I would be tempted to just do a flush and see if it comes back.
I was thinking that as well. I’ll either do that, and/or a pressure test like you mentioned. It just runs normally so I haven’t been motivated to do anything about it yet. Seems like a flush would be a good first step.
More findings today. I’ve been having a hard time telling if the coolant level has been going down, but it seems like it has been, just very very slightly.
Today I found a build up of coolant residue on the trans cooler line and a bunch of coolant residue on the underside of the driver’s side motor mount.
I decided to mark my coolant reservoir with hot and cold levels so I can tell how much coolant it’s losing. It’s obviously losing some, but wherever it’s losing it the coolant is so hot it bakes right onto whatever it hits, so it’s hard to tell where the current leak may be.
Does this mean anything to any of you? Have you ever seen coolant loss in this location? Any correlation to oil spots in the coolant reservoir?
