Already in? Sweet. Is the oil pan hitting the axle?

Yeah, The oil pan is not hitting the pumpkin. It MAY need modification depending on how high I end up mounting the motor. The stock merc motor mount arms are going to work perfect. I will have to weld a heavy piece of 3 inch angle iron on the frame rails for the motor mounts to sit on.

I know these kind of installs are a fab as you go and not cookie cutter. But even with that in mind, please take lots of pics and detail as much as you can because there are quite a few who really would like to do this too with that motor (me included).
I know pictures are sometimes an interuption to the process of development, troubleshooting, and trail & error, but they also capture concepts (some that work and some that don't).
Great job forging a path were many have given up!

Don't be depressed, I still have the old 4.0 and a S10 with a blown motor.

Just ordered 4 Disco 1 engine mounts at $4 bucks a piece. They will be here noonish. I need them to finalize motor position and height.

Shaft Drive = Harley Look Alike.

EDIT: Dang it. There I go again answering without reading the whole thread...

Also, Anxious to see this one get completed. I'd LOVE to do the same swap when mine gives up.

This is the stock front section of driveshaft from the merc. The shiny one is the trans output shaft, it unbolts from the trans. I am going to slide the rover output shaft into the merc driveshaft and utilize the merc rotoflex coupler to mount it to the transmission just like stock. the driveshaft will be welded to the rover output shaft. The seal surface of the rover shaft is a little to big to slide into the merc driveshaft. It is being turned down in a lathe at a machine shop right now. The transmission rear plate will be bolted to the transfer box so I can utilize the stock transfer box mounting point.
