Default One of AC Vents Doesn't Blow

Since I bought my 99 I I have noticed te right vent on the center of the dash doesn't flow any air. The little lever that either opens or closes the air flow seems to be broken as it moves freely.

So I'm wondering if it somehow broke while in the closed position? I see those little vents for sale on Ebay but not sure if the vent includes the lever or if its the culprit.

Any ideas? Is this a common issue?

The switch come detached from the mechanism that opens and closes the vent pretty easy. You'll more than likely need to pull the center dash section out to repair it.

So the vent is broken?
The part that you can see with the grills on it?
The part that you can move to direct the air flow, thats what you mean?
I just want to be clear.

The part that determines whether the airflow is letting air through or blocking it is what moves freely. This is NOT the vent itself in terms of the swiveling etc.

Just replace the vent.
They pop right out, the hard part will be getting a new one, may be a dealer only item but it should only cost a few bucks.

Is this a D1 or a D2?

I can't speak for a D1, but on a D2 if you'll take something like a pen and push it back into the right side of the vent, it will open.

Your switch won't work but it will blow air.

Where exactly would I try pushing? Upper, lower, center?
