I think getting a CDL would be cheaper. It's not like the D1 ABS works any better.

Here's another advantage, take a Wrangler for a ride over a nice rough road or trail for a couple hours. It may go all kinds of places, but you'll feel it tomorrow...
I'd agree with every wrangler except the new jk, it rides better than my disco, although mine has the full Rovertym lift so it doesnt ride quite as well as stock.

The DI ABS does not even work, HOWEVER, the DI does not rely on computers to get it to where it wants to go, all it needs is 1 wheel on the ground and its going to move.

Only if it has front and rear lockers, which no discos have stock. The cdl only ensures that one front wheel and one rear wheel turns at the same speed, if only 1 tire has grip, the power will go through the open diff of that axle to the tire with the least resistance and you go nowhere. A d2 with a cdl and traction control would be better in that situation than a stock d1 because it would route power to the 1 wheel with grip, simulating a locking diff. If the d2 had a cdl but the tc wasn't working, it would be par with the d1.

Now let's not upset Spike. Allow him to retain the belief that D1s are better than D2s...

I can't really disagree, the d1 has cdl, my d2 doesn't, so off road the d1 is better equipped. However that doesnt mean it can do the things spike thinks it can without a lot more modification...to say otherwise is very misleading for those that don't know.

Hmm, when I click "Today's Posts" and count the number of threads on the D1 side, I count 15. The D2 side only has 13!

OK, enough joking around. Back to the topic on hand...
