Default one year better offroading better than the other

I have a 96 disco I have a few mods done and I was talking to a friend of mine and he used to have a 98 disco and he said he didnt do well offroading at all. I seem to do really well I love to go out and play in my truck I have had a few trucks. First was a z71 tahoe and then a 96 tacoma with a 6 inch lift and mud tires and then a 2 door yukon. They all had mud tires and a few other things done. But my disco performs better than all the other trucks I have had. Just wondering why he got disapointed with his in the offroading department.
Thanks Matthew

Some people just dont want to work what they think as a luxury vehicle.
The other thing is the fog lights are very low on the OEM bumper,,, I have seen more than afew broken out.

Any of the Discos, be it 1's or 2's that have a CDL, will do really well off road with the right tires.
Then you build from there depending on what you are wanting to do.

maybe you just have more experience off-roading than he does. knowing which lines to take can make a huge difference off-road.

I agree about the experience factor. Many rigs are very capable in stock form with a good driver. And then I have seen well built trailer queens that struggle in the easiest of areas. A lot has to do with the mind and attitude when you are off roading, and knowing the limitations of the vehicle you are in, ie.. a Geotracker is not a mud bog vehicle.

Ditto-BUT a Geo Tracker or Suzuki Samari are both excellent mudders when set up right. (they are twins)

Even though these trucks are AMAZING you still have to know how to drive them. Knowing what line to take, what speed to go, what gear to use, how to maneuver obstacles, and what the limits are, are all very important things to know. Some people dont bother learning and never get better. I know in the year I have owned mine I have learned so much, and I didn't do it by pretending I was "king of the off road". I would never drive anything else when it comes to off roading.

camdisco24 you said you have got the 3m hood blackout? How do you like it and how does it look do you have any new pics with it? I have been thinking about getting one I really like them on the white and the sun can be blinding in South Carolina.
Thanks Matthew
