Ongoing Misfire Issues of Death
Okay, so I'm pulling the top and looking at the connectors this coming weekend (I have new ones arriving this afternoon to solder in) ; today, just for giggles I checked the flow from the coils to the plug with an inline spark tester and it was lighting just fine. So, and I THINK I know the answer to this already, that could still mean the voltage is getting messed up by the trigger wires? or does that change the thought process AGAIN.
A recent poster had misfires on one cylinder (#5) due to a blown head gasket into the valley. Maybe perform a compression check, compare all cylinders.
Also try to wiggle/move the trigger wires during the in-line testing to see if the spark stops. If it doesn't stop, then the connection is probably good, but a visual exam will help diagnose. Process of elimination....

Fire fuel and compression, all at the right times. You have compression and its timing does not change for one cylinder only. That leaves fuel and fire. As I said 98% of the time it is fire, but if you want to rule out fuel you can swap injectors left to right. More likely the coils or wires or plugs, but if you wanted you can rewire trigger wire back to ECU. Might be worth trying a known good ECU, I keep a few spare on hand and they are good for testing also.
