Shuttle Valve Switch Code - Three Amigos Intermittent
Just curious here. RAVE says the Shuttle Valve Switch fault is a permanent fault, which RAVE says The Boys From South of the Border stay illuminated until "rectified and cleared".
A neighbor here has an '04 Discovery (with < 90,000 miles). He comes to me when lights show up in the instrument panel, because I have a Hawkeye.
He contacted me this week about the Three Amigos. First time for his truck. He reports the Three Amigos appear intermittently. We read the codes and the only ABS fault was 114:Shuttle Valve Switch Electrical Failure.
That's fine; the Option B remedy is well known and I've done it twice. No biggie. But what I don't understand is why the Three Amigos show up intermittently when the only ABS fault logged is the Shuttle Valve Switch Electrical Failure. Any insight, y'all?

i had this happen on my '04 before it became permanent. took about a year. shutting off the truck and restarting it would usually reset the tres amigos. eventually, i did the Option B fix and haven't had issues since.
my best guess is that there is a gradually failing ground in the ABS unit, that depending which bump in the road you hit, or which Rover god you irritate, decides to show itself.

The ground faults are technically a "soft" fault. And will vanish usually after a key cycle. Hit a rough patch of road, shuttle valve wiring or the internal connection inside the wabco vibrate/ground out and 3 amigos appear. Cycle ignition switch wires/connector aren't being vibrated or impacted so fault goes away. Very very common & yep Option B will solve it.
