Default Out with the old in with the new(er)

After all the fun I had trying to find a coolant leak then finally concluding that it had a cracked block I did what anyone that hates themselves would do...I went looking for another one!!!

I think I got real lucky because I found a TWIN of my old rover and because I like pain I bought it!

Old
2000 Kent green; premium sound; ace (with amber light); NO sai; NO srs; premium 18' wheels; HGs done by PO; bought for $2000 with engine issues (turned out to be CMP and coil pack); 101k mi bought; 119k mi now;

This one was running great over the 11 months I had it but developed a few issues. Death wobble, IDM went out recently no indicators; whining when driving (I assume it was the TC output flange); Then finally (and what killed it) cracked block and slipped sleeve.

New
2001 SE7 Kent green; regular sound (i think); ace (no light!); NO sai; Heated seats!; srs already converted to springs(more on that in a bit); Paid $3200; 131k mi bought; ARB bumper AND LR lights installed!

Just bought this in from a guy in NH who only had it there for a few months; He got it from the original owner and family member who had it in Texas its entire life. Originally wanted it for his wife but she found it too big. he also had the ball joints and all 4 hubs replaced which is why I was willing to pay a little more for it. The interior and exterior are perfect with exception of a dent in the hood and the driver side door window frame is loose causing it to whistle at high speed. It was already switched to green coolant. Erilly silent with no drivetrain or unusual engine noise compared to the old one

It has it's own issues. I don't think the drive shaft has been done. The air bags were removed and replaced with springs but it wasn't deleted from the computer so the SRS light is on. NO CODES and all lights check (so abs, ace, tc all work great). The biggest issue is that HGs havnt been done and at 130k they're going to go at any time I'm sure. There is already a smell of coolant outside the truck but it isn't showing enough to find the leak easilly and it's maintaining 200 deg.

Pics because that's required after a buy including a picture of the "twins":

Nice looking truck again/still.
Does the new have a lift, too?

I would bet the new bumper has something to do with the airbags being gone :-)

Nice find!

The new one has a stock suspension that I know of. A lift isn't out of the question though. Maybe down the road a little bit. I want to let this ride out for a bit and make sure nothing pops up first (oh and for the weather not to be awful). Also, a CDL lever will probably be next if anything.

I was pleasantly surprised to see it so clean and with very few problems. I feel bad for the guy who sold it since he loved it but didn't use it enough to warrant the expensive upkeep (especially since he didn't do the work himself) but now it's in the hands of an enthusiast!

And ya about the air bags, the ARB bumper is supposed to work with the ones that go boom in an accident. the SRS bags though are just a huge system waiting to cause a headache and I don't tow so no major benefit.

I might be wrong but i think SRS is the interior air bag (Supplemental Restraint System) and SLS is the Self Leveling Suspension in the rear.

That is correct. I mistyped. So many acronyms to remember!
