compression looks good. I’m going to go ahead and replace the upper intake manifold gasket and the valley pan gasket. I think I just need those two gaskets plus the 2x ends gaskets to reseal the manifold?

Thanks for the help everyone...

Good check of the compressions. Small daub of RTV silicon goes on the four corners of the valley end seals, to fill in the cracks where heads meet block. Clean those spots well with brake cleaner or acetone. Pay attention to tightening sequence and torque, so as not to damage manifold.

Still have not pinpointed the culprit. So still needs careful diagnosis.

May have found the culprit. After installing the valley pan gasket and re-installing the manifold… the upper intake manifold one of 4x main threads is stripped out. Going to toss a helicoil and hopefully that was the issue. Likely had a vacuum pressure leak from one of four main bolts loose? Anyways waiting for tools.

Valley pan gasket installed, lower manifold re-installed and i was installing the upper intake manifold and two of the 4x 8mm big bolts threads are blown on the passenger side so i ordered helicoil kit to fix the threads. I'm hoping this was the problem with my engine performance ... that bolt came loose and massive air vacuum problem i suspect. So ... awaiting tools n parts - will report back!

I have big plans for this truck... but i need it running properly first. Going to lift it, w nice tires, headers exhaust and really dial it back in to proper form. Wish me luck peoples... let's go let's go!

Anyone know what this wire is for and ends up going to? Branches off from the sensor on the manifold there and heads toward the drive lower crankcase , guessing maybe the crank sensor is the destination? It had break in the coating which i repaired and putting heat shield on, I got check this more tho.

The manifold gasket lower and upper have been serviced. I had two bolt threads on pass side stripped so the bolts were not holding tight, which i'm hoping was the culprit. That sensor wire shorting prob didn't help anything at all... lol

Thanks

MASS AIR FLOW sensor... must of blow out on the overheat maybe from the chemicles? Anyways... running like champ now. I got the valley pan and upper intake gaskets repairs and heli-coiled two threads on the upper. Back in business baby... the main issue was the MAS tho. Wild because i didn't get any codes leading to that other than the misfires. Anyways... job done and done. Thanks for the help all... now i can move on to fixing other things on the truck lol.

for the record this was a boatload of misfire codes general p0300 and all cylinders etc. battery of codes … little baffling the damn thing didn’t fire a code fire for the MAS sensor , so I suspect that is a thing on these rigs. They blow the MAS and no direct linking code. **** show
