Default Overheating

Hi , i have a disco 2 and im having some overheating problem and the coolant tank is pressuring up and spitting coolant. I have changed water pump, thermostat and im wondering what should i go for next ? Head gasket or new rad ? Thanks in advance

its a presurized system. Did you check the cap?

Let it cool down and see if you have enough coolant after replacing parts or draining coolant. Seems to me that coolant not enough and plenty air still inside. No panic yet.

If you did all that work and didn't bleed leftover air from the system that could be it. Make sure you use the bleed valve when topping off coolant. Keep expansion cap off and run car with heat on high for a few mins then turn off and let cool for a few hour. Top off tank again.

If that doesnt help you need to go to an auto parts store and borrow (rent) a radiator pressure tester. Easy to do, hook up an adapter to the expansion tank and pump up to 20.3 psi this should hold for a long time. If it's dropping or you cant even get there, you have a leak

thanks il give that a try . I just ran it for this past week and it havn't overheated yet . But when it gets hot it seems like idle is going up on its own. And i dont have much heat inside the cab .

Did you properly bleed the cooling system or not?

If not, there are several threads here about the proper procedure.

While you're driving, do you hear a "waterfall" type sound coming from the front of the car? Thats a symptom of trapped air bubbles. Might not overheat now but it could in the future.
