Overheating on the highway

You may have put the serpentine belt on backwards or wrong and the water pump is not working correctly.

Verify the belt routing.

I am going to ask the obvious, have you checked the coolant level?

Good catch Spike.
There may be the waterfall sound in the heater core when you accelerate from stop lights.

Means add more coolant and bleed the system.

Spike brings us back to reality. Start with the basics. Got coolant, if not where is it going in some sort of sneaky leak when you don't notice. Belt route, belt not slipping and slick, etc. No trash or mud in front of radiator or fins.

i brought up coolant back on post #10 & again on post #16 all I got for an answer was "It has been fine since I last replaced everything and flushed it."

Yes, but if air present, could that allow coolant level in overflow container to remain stable, yet bubbles be sounding in heater core, drowned out by the flux capacitor setting on the radio (oldie's station)? But you are right, it is a cooling system, coolant flow + air flow over clear fins = heat removal > heat produced by engine.

Flux Capacitor.
Even if I had one..
My rover will not get to 88 MPH.
The drive shaft would self destruct.

I took it for a quick spin to diagnose more and it overheated. I noticed that this hose that goes from the coolant reservoir to somewhere was disconnected. I am not sure if this was the culprit, or if it just blew off when it over heated. I reconnected this hose and filled up the coolant and it looks like there are no problems. I hooked up my scanner and the live data shows that it was running at about 230 degrees after a 10 minute drive. The gauge was in the 50/60% range.

I still have the coolant sensor I bought, so I might just toss this on anyways. At least I know it'll be replaced if I have any problems further down the road. I will test it further and let you guys know if I have any more issues.
