I think the most fool proof way to bleed is with a vacuum bleeder. I have had good luck just pulling the reservoir out and holding up, as high as you can, and bleeding that way. Although I just installed an inline from Extinct that works great with out bleeding, just filling it up via the hose and then filling the expansion tank.
any chance your sensor is giving you bad info?
Is the new radiator working? with an IR thermometer are you getting predictable temps? Hotter near the input, cooler near the output?
Can you squeeze the hoses when it is running, or hot? do they collapse? under vacuum? do the hoses feel uniformly firm?
