Question P0304- Cillinder 4 Misfire

Drove from Georgia to Texas and when I got here, Service Engine Soon Light popped up on dash. Before the light an occasional misfire followed by a shake could be felt, but now it is more erratic.

Purchased E3 spark plugs, NGK spark plug wires (would of went for Kingsborne, but Lifetime Warranty @ AAP and slightly cheaper price followed by NGK's reputation made the difference), debating on wether or not to purchase a coil pack just in case...

I know I'll have to mess with the Intake Manifold.

Questions: Is there a gasket that will need to be replaced, and which one/ones

--I read through several coil issue posts but did not see the info for the above question...

Holding off on ignition coil purchase because according to mitchell repair, a faulty ignition coil for cylinder 4 would also very likely trigger a cylinder 7 misfire code... So, I guess I might not have to deal with the manifold/gasket just yet, but still would be nice in case I did have to work on the coils... Thanks

Just replace that wire.
Until you can replace them all.

you'll need a plenum gasket to do the wires right and the plenum intake is all you have to pull inorder to get to the coils. Plenum gasket is only about $15 might be worth getting any how.

If you pop the upper manifold off carefully you should not bend that metal gasket. I have pulled mine 3 or 4 times over the last 10 years and still have the original one in the engine.

As Mike said, I have done the same and no problems. You can leave the manifold on and still do the wires. I have done it 2 times now and left it in place. Its a lil pain in the rear but works bending a screw driver. Its pictured on the forum. I dont have big manly hands so was able to do it that way.
