Default P0306 and other codes. Please Help

A week ago I was driving my car and when I reached about 45MPH my car started sputtering. It felt almost as if it was going to die, but didn't. Then the check engine light started flashing off and on. I pulled over for about 10 minutes and drove back home and was fine. I have been driving it for over a week now with now problem. Today the same issue happened and after having the vehicle off for 10-15 minutes it ran fine for my hour drive home. I stopped at auto zone to pull some codes. 6-7 different codes were coming up but one I haven't seen before. P0306 which is a cylinder misfire. What does this mean and could this be the cause of the vehicle acting up?

Thanks,
Stephanie

Ok need to pull spark plug out on number six . Look it over . Do a comp test on that cylinder and make sure it's above 130 . Check out the wire. Make sure it's not burnt any where. Is all is well u will have to remove injector for testing swapnit into another cylinder and see if miss fire follows. Next will be to checkmout coil but I don't have timento write about that.

The easy fix if the spark plug or the plug wire. If thats not it, things get harder. Fuel injector or god forbid coolant in the cylinder. When you pull plug take a good hard look at it. The plug will tell you a lot. If its wet or burnt, oil vs fuel.
The other codes you have showing might just be related.
Good luck

My 2001 Discovery is having same issues. Codes PO301, PO302, PO304, PO305, PO306. PO300 - multiple cyl misfire, P1300 Catalyst damaging misfire, P1590 ABS rough road signal fault. My mechanic changed out the plugs because they were burnt. He also checked the wire, MAF, vacuum but no luck. Nearest Land Rover dealership is over 2 hrs away and I can't drive it over 35 MPH without it stuttering and check engine light flashing. Any suggestions?

How old are your plug wires? I would say they are toast.

I will need to get the rest of the codes.. I know 1 is for an O2 censor and another is for the Mass Air Flow

Also I think one is 1884 off the top of my head which I have tried to find information on and it is coming back as a manufactural code?

Here's my story... Last year I replaced all plugs with Bosch plat+4's, being new to the Rover was unpleasantly surprised to find that the wires are buried deep and a much bigger job. Two wires were damaged near the tips so I replaced the boots leaving the (assumed) 120K mile OEM wires alone.

A couple months ago the Disco started a little stuttering, having occasional trouble accelerating, climbing small freeway grades, etc. Finally checked and had 7 error codes (6 misfires and one credited to a 3-amigos ABS situation). This past weekend had a friend help install new wires but left the Bosch plat+4's alone assuming that they are still OK though we did notice that one of them that had the boot replaced last year had left some carbon on the plug.

Surprisingly the job only took about 2.5 hours (luckily my buddy has small hands). The trick is to remove as little as possible without breaking vacuum lines or coolant hoses. We only removed the MAF, some intake/injection hoses around the idle air control, SAI pipe (what a horrible design...), then were finally able to reach the coil pack.

The truck ran fine on the way home (80 mph, AC on climbing freeway grades). Till later that evening when displaying my mechanical triumph to the wife. After clearing all codes (vice ABS) got up to 60 mph when some minor stuttering started again (nothing like before) and SES light started flashing again. New errors show misfire codes 303 & 304.... It has to be those darn Bosch platinum+4's!!!

I have read that the Champions are the best way to go, suggestions are greatly appreciated?

^^What wires did you replace the OEM wires with?

...and yes, some people aren't the biggest fans of the +4's for a variety of reasons...try switching them out with some Champions and see what happens...
