Default P0340 Camshaft position sensor "A" Circuit

So during a 450 mile off road trip this thing popped up, the Disco appears to mostly run well but lacks some power. Just replace or is there any logical troubleshooting I can perform ?

Note I also have a P0444 purge control circuit open.

I get no light when driving only on startup, and of course clearing it just goes to pending until the next shutdown and restart. The pending sometimes does not show up for 10 -15 km, most times with in a few feet.

Short update (chasing an exhaust leak).

Removed the connector a boatload of water came out the of the plasticy wiring warp
Hit both sides with a ton of contact cleaner let sit overnight
Sealed the back of the wiring connector with red rtv
Tightened the hold on bolt it was a about a turn loose
Started the Disco up ran for 5 minutes no code
Shut down started a later drove to car wash shut down still good
Drove home still good
So far looks like loose bolt and crap/water in the connector

Sometimes it's the simplest fix! Hope that's all it was for ya.

Nice to find a simple fix. Hopefully it lasts for a long while.
