Default P0441 pending but purge valve recent

My UG sounded an alarm for the P0441 pending code. However, the EVAP purge valve was changed only 3 months ago, on July 17!

Could the purge valve have gone bad so soon? Is it my gas cap? Any ideas?

441 means you do not have a correct purge flow, could be caused by anything like a leak, anywhere in the system.

Going to test and inspect lines tomorrow. Question:
One of the clips on the air cleaner cover where it connects to the MAF is broken off so badly that you could see the o-ring. Could that be causing a vacuum problem when the EVAP system is tested by the ECU?

no. but you will want to replace that next...

im fighting evap leak myself...

did you check the elec pin connector to the purge valve for corrosion or being loose?

check the wire for cracking too maybe it's shorting out.

FYI Hyundai part # 28910-22040 is a direct replacement and cheaper

'Been looking for an affordable air cleaner cover, but good to know it's unelated. That Hyundai part is the one i put in back in July.

I did recently remove and reinstall the purge valve to replace the clamps ( https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...d.php?p=349161). I'll check the connector and its wires then.

Well, I visually checked all the vacuum hoses (i.e., no smoke test yet,) and disconnected and reconnected the electrical plugs. Since these were pending, I just let it go through the EVAP cycle (man, that's a long one - took about a week+) and the codes are gone.

If they return or in the Spring, I'll delve into them further - whichever comes first.

I have the same problem going on. I got a P0441 code on my ultragauge and installed a new purge valve. After a few days the 0441 came back as a pending code. I cleared it a few times but it always came back. I'm going to leave it as a pending code and see if turns into a Trouble Code that trips the Check Engine Light. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will clear itself.

I want to check the line/hose that runs from the Purge valve down the back of the engine for cracks, but I have no idea how to get that thing out without pulling the engine. Any ideas

the secondary air solenoid and the purge valve connectors are the same just different colors. they can be mixed up.

Got a p0441 code. To tell if the harness is reversed go to RAV. Black harness to the purge valve and gray harness to the leak detection pump.
