Default P0447 Is it that big a deal? Related to stalling?

It's the persistant code that never wants to reset, and I am not subject to inspections emissions or otherwise, so unless it was likely to actually cause issues I' m not inclined to bother with it.
I am having a problem with the Disco stalling while running, I have replaced the CPS, when it cranks after stalling I get spark as verified with an inductive timing light and when it sits for a period of time from 5 to 10 minutes it starts right up again and runs until it doesn't. Is it possible that the purge valve sticking is causing a vacuum in the tank and the pump can't pull fuel? Seems unlikely that the tank system would hold that much vacuum after 20+ years. OTOH the truck hasn't been run much in the 3 years I've had it and the time the DPO had it, I have no idea of the service history before that, and think it's possible that the tank has accumulated enough crud in it to block the screens in the pump.
