Default P0455 Purge Valve Question

Dealing with P0455 code right now. Already changed the gas cap and i removed the purge valve and cleaned it out.Still getting code. This might be a stupid question but should air flow throw the little purge valve? i shot throttle body cleaner in it and blew in it and it did not flow through...but maybe its not suposed to.
Just asking before i order my Hyundai part.
Thanks for any info.

I went through all of this recently and I too kept getting the purge valve check engine code. I cleaned it and was still throwing the code hours later after cleaning. I have since replaced with the hyundai part and I am going on a little over a week now without the code returning.

A heads up on the Autozone purge valve which some have recommend in previous threads. I got the P0445 code a couple of months ago. I replaced mine with the new Autozone purge valve and a new genuine LR gas cap a couple of months ago. The P0455 code still kept on appearing. I ended up going to a genuine LR purge valve and the code went away. It could be the Autozone unit was simply a defective one. Just wondering if others had used an Autozone version with success.

Just replace the purge valve. It's $60. I went through this a couple months back. Replaced the gas cap and that helped for a bit. But then 0455 came back steady. So I replaced the purge valve with the hyundai part and have no code in several months.

also replaced with the Hyundai purge valve. code has not returned. real simple replacement, I'm a fairly shady shade-tree guy and I had no troubles doing it.

Make sure you use the Hyundai part, the Autozone part is ****e.

I went through two before buying the Hyundai version which has worked flawlessly since.
