Thanks a ton guys!! It has me pulling my hair out. My scanner says it has reset the code but does not. I called Atlantic British and their answer was buy the $400 dollar unit that reads the ABS codes. Not faulting them for their suggestion, but I will clean all connections first!!! A lot cheaper, I think?

I have the iCarsoft LR2 which reads and resets ABS codes. Costs about $150-$175. It's not a fantastic device, but is adequate for most situations.

Or save your time/money and do a pdf search of the D2 workshop manual.

Try using the tools available to you first.
P1590 ABS rough road signal circuit malfunction Hardware is OK, but SLABS ECU is sending an error

The P1590 is a generic code, meaning it will not tell you anything important that would help in trouble shooting any part of the ABS system. It will normally trip anytime there is an actual ABS fault code stored be it from the shuttle valves or an ABS wheel sensor, but you will NEVER see the actual fault code without a LR specific fault code scantool.

"If" you don't have a LR specific scantool that can quickly read the actual fault codes good luck as you're just wasting more time & $$$$ in the end. With say the iCarsoft LR2 you could find out what your actual fault codes are within say a minute, you can then do a live data stream on the wheel sensors, and see how the sensors are reporting.

The days of just sitting down, reading a Haynes/Chilton Manual/Rave Manual, then going outside to work on your vehicle are honestly over with the invention of ABS and electronic computer systems where having the proper scantool = like having the Haynes/Chilton/Rave manual for back in the day pre computer/ABS equipped vehicles.

Rave manual is great, but if you want to quickly diagnose the ABS system on a LR or say the Can Bus system on newer LR's a scantool should be the #1 thing you grab.

Oh and the iCarsoft LR2 can be purchased for around $150.00 which is just about what you'll pay at any mechanic's shop for 1hr of diagnostic time after taxes. Save yourself the $150.00 you just tossed out the window for someone else to plug in a LR specific scantool (if it's an independent shop it's probably the SnapOn $$$$ Solus Ultra) for 2min and do it yourself. Then you'll always have it & the iCarsoft for example also reads other OBDII fault codes as well as LR/Jag.

BEST4X4,
I was looking at that exact tool and the guy at Atlantic/British said it would not read all the ABS codes. Of course he was trying to sell something else!! I am going to buy the iCarsoft. Thanks all for your help!!

That guy at AB doesn’t even know what their own website & video’s with the iCarsoft LR2 are about then.... The iCarsoft is not a scantool that can make program changes or program keys (like a Hawkeye) but it will do tons of diagnostics on LR modules, read LR/Jag specific fault codes, and I used it all the time to quickly view ABS faults. It’s nice for LR3/RRS as well because you can reset the maintenance reminder and read their individual modules as well.

Sorry AB is clueless! When you get it update the firmware & you’ll be good to go. Earlier firmware didn’t have some features & the LR3/RRS maintenance reminder reset was buggy, but latest firmware fixed that issue.

Obviously it does and...it works on BMWs. It may work on other vehicles but, I can only validate BMW

I've used the OBDII non specific part on Hummer H3's, Ford, and even a Dodge with no issues.
