Default P440 Purge Valve

I replaced purge valve with Hyundai swap purge valve as recommended by others in this forum. P440 comes back. Should I replace all the hoses and clamps too? What else could it be?

Should I replace with OEM purge valve that is good deal more expensive?

Hyundai unit has always worked good for me. Make sure the line isn't cracked. Also make sure your gas cap is in good condition. If that doesn't stop the P0440 from being triggered it might be worth getting it smoke tested for leaks.

get the OEM Bosch purge valve. RockAuto.com sells them cheap. I went through 3 of the aftermarket units listed for Hyundai and they were all junk. Finally ended up with a 15-year old Bosch from a recycler and BAM.

Listed for Hyundai meaning the generic BWD, or whatever Auto Zone sells vs an actual Genuine Hyundai part? I've used nothing but the Hyundai OEM Genuine Replacement Purge Control valve (25.00 on Amazon) and I've never had a single one fail.

My inlaw had a 2010 Santa Fe and they replaced theirs with a generic from Auto Zone and yep it failed 3 times until they finally got an OEM one.

yes, whatever, aftermarket VS. factory.

I don't know, I have never shopped at Hyundai nor for Hyundai parts. I just bought what they had at the store and it didn't work. All I know is RockAuto has the LR part for a good price. thank you for the correction.

Oh not correcting you! You are right the generic Purge Control Valves are complete junk no doubt about it. Just clearing up that OEM Hyundai units do in fact work good.

Whatever you DO NOT go by a Hyundai Dealership to buy one. My first Purge Control Valve from there was like 22.00 back in the day. I think they know people buy them for other vehicles now as the last one I attempted to buy was 80.00!!! I simply went home and grabbed one off of Amazon new with free shipping for $25.00.

Is that what this thing is that's leaking?

I smoked it and this thing is the charcoal canister vent valve. Are you talking about the same thing?

That's the purge valve he is referring to. It could be the hose leaking.
I got a factory one sealed in the package if you are interested, pm me and I'll give you a good price and the part number

I buy them from the Hyundai dealership just to make sure it's genuine.

They used to be cheap, but I think they caught on that we were using them for Land Rovers.

I think our price with wholesale account is around $40.

Hyundai part number is 28910-22040

Yep that's the P/N I use and get them for normally 25.00 with free shipping. They come in a Hyundai stamped bag with holograhic Hyundia logos all over it.

The knock off's are pretty easy to spot. They don't say Hyundai anywhere on them, and to me the plastic is thinner/cheaper.

I'm 99% sure Hyundai caught onto something as the price went up drastically. But I only have to buy one with a new D2 project. After I replace em I don't honestly have any issues with them after that. I also replace the line and clamps at the same time.
