Default Passenger window odd behavior

Hey all, been working through issues for our 2002 discovery that I’m going to start driving daily.

After having no windows or seats work I’m down to one window that is giving me trouble. It’s the front passenger window, I replaced the motor and when I first tested it, it worked flawlessly (door open).I tried it later while I was driving and it wouldn’t go down. After more testing I found that it worked as it should with the door unlatched, but with the door actuator latched it would go up if it was already down but will not go down again. Am I right to assume there may be a problem with the door actuator? What’s the connection between the window motor and the door actuator?

thanks!

Following along here. I replaced my regulator and after a few weeks of proper operation my passenger window will go down, but only go up intermittently. I have to hold the button down and it kind of works its way back up. So a similar issue.

possibly a grounding issue? I’ll have to go through the wiring diagram to see how it’s supposed to function.
To get the rest of the interior electrics working I swapped out the interior fuse panel from a wrecked one and did the key position 2 BCM learn procedure.

I would wonder about poor wires running in the boot between the door and the car. With door open, the wire is intact, with closed wire is open? Just a guess.

I thought about that, but tested it by engaging the latch/actuator with the door open and it acts the same as if the door is closed and latched, will go up if it’s down but not down again until it’s unlatched. Something is changing when the actuator is in the latched state.

Sounds like your actuator is going bad and feeding back/grounding in the door when it latches.

thanks logan, do you know if the front and rear door (right side) are interchangeable? I’d like to test it before I purchase another actuator.

Mounting wise no, but I believe the plugs are the same.
Double check the pin-out. I'm at the office and can't look at any of my parts trucks atm.

Update,
I still haven’t resolved this issue. Here’s what I tried, I installed a different actuator (salvage yard) with no change, I also took the drivers door actuator and plugged it into the passenger door and latched the actuator with same result, window does not go down with the door actuator latched.
Next I hooked up the nanocom and I don’t know what this means but I did test the passenger window up and down with nanocom (outputs page) and it does go down with the door latched.
To me that means the BCU output and the wiring to the door is good, it works.

I was able to get it to operate up and down latched by running an actuator plug wire to ground. But that’s a workaround, and I would rather find the issue and fix it.

any ideas?
