Hello all. I wanted to run this past a group of experts. Is this a good deal?

He is actually offering it for 3500.00

I test drove it around the block; everything seemed in order. Electrical, A/C, transmission shifted smoothly. The brakes seemed a little spongy. Nothing new pads and a bleed wouldn't fix (I hope!). It has some cosmetic problems; trim bits, some window and door seals; nothing too horrible. The exterior was actually very nice for a '97. (It's even the right color!).

There was some oil leaking from near the oil pan. I didn't get under and take a look around, but I will if I go back for a second look.

I have never seen a good rover at a used car lot..not saying they are not out there. that price is nothing special for this current market..if you are serious about buying it..pay somebody to inspect it.

 

Find as much history on it as you can. If it isn't maintained right keep looking.

 

That truck looks good to me.
You MUST use premium gas.
The most common oil leaks are the oil PSI sending unit and the valve covers.
Test drive it for 45-60 mins and make sure that EVERY thing works.
Then totally low ball them on the price.
