That is not from a leak, typical head liner issue.

Headliners just sag, doesn't have anything to do with drain unless your seeing wet spots.

when you go to repair the headliner then you can clean the drain lines for the sunroofs and re-seal them to the gutter. see my write up in the tech section

Just noticed it and its been rather wet out the last few days, didnt touch it though to see if it were moist. Not happening anywhere else, but for some reason I thought that might be the area the drain was.

I have the same wet spots on the passenger side, how does the water get in there in the first place? My sunroof is ALWAYS closed!, wouldn't it be easier for me to seal around the sunroof rubber seal? is that where water usually comes in from?

my D2 is 1999, I had a lot of water getting in wet carpets and wet headliner, I climb up and i could move the sunroof, 1/2 in left to right and front to rear, so I removed the headliner and removed both sunroofs cleaned and resealed the both I also removed the glass and removed its seal and resealed that then replace the glass, this was 2 years ago and it been OK since then the wet carpets was a hole just under the windscreen and a badly sealing grommet in the juar below the windscreen were the electric wire for the heated screen go through, I think if your main seal has gone the any water runs down the inside of the roof and drips down from just above the windscreen, it only took me a few daye to do the complete job, but several months to find the problem

Check if the glass sits tightly on the rubber seals. Make sure, the screws holding the glass are tight. Check if the glass is centered (measure the gaps from above). If the glass is not centered, it might not seal well. You might see a small gap between the glass and the rubber seal from inside. This is how the water can get in, although the sunroof is always closed.

Yes the glass seal can be difficult as you have 4 corners, I remov3d the seal, cleaned out the grove the applied a good coating of sealant the replaced the seal as fast as I could and shut the glass down tight to hold the eseal in place and let the sealer set
