Default Plastic trim bits - time to buy?

Our intent is to keep this Disco forever. Seems like plastic trim bits like A-pillar trim and windshield trim are quickly becoming NLA. Are you all noticing that too or is there more inventory out in the wild than I'm thinking there might be?

If they're indeed getting scarce, think it's worth buying a set of trim now to store for some future need down the road? Right now the A-pillar trim and windshield trim is in good shape, but they're also 20 years old.

I def have a new set of a pillars and a new cowl in the attic for the Day Of Extinction.

(BTW the a pillars aren't NLA from LR they are just out of stock for one of the sides... hopefully they'll keep making them)

Hopefully. I ended up just buying a set of AP covers and windshield cowling for posterity. Wild how much the prices have gone up in just a year. I bought a new set last year for the 2004 that I just sold and total for OEM was just south of $600. The total for today's order of the same thing was just over $800.

I would get that hoard out of your attic. Heat seams to really deteriorate Rover plastic.

In terms of hoarding for the future, I've done that with many parts for the Rovers I have. I'm not sure it's worth it as the plastic parts are such trash that time and heat break them down until they turn to dust...

I predict (hope?) for a future where 3D scanning and printing is common and cheap enough to bring your broken trim pieces in to the mall and come back the next day for your new ones. That being said, I have a pair of spare A pillar trim in the garage too...
