Please help!
Hi I am a new owner of 99 Disco I. I have question for all Land rover experts.
The car has 107000 mile. When I drive on free way it drives fine until I hit 80 mph. Then the car start to shake little bit. After I let the gas pedal go to reduce the speed and when I step on it again, the car does not pick up instead I can feel the rattle or chattering, steping on the gas makes it worst, until speed redeuces to 55mph then it drives fine. It feels like power does not transfer to drive shaft. Or drives shft turns blank.
It only does that at 80mph. 75 mph it is fine. even at 79 mph, I can let the gas pedal and step on it again with no problem.
Previous owner told me that they took the problem to the dealer for warranty a few times. But they could not find the cause of the problem. So they drove with the condition for 80000miles, since they got the car. They said just don't go over 80 mph.
What do you think is the problem?
Please help!
What is the top speed of the vehicle?

RE: Please help!
Well, I'm no expert by any means---but mine was doing the same thing at exactly 55mph. It shook and rattled so much I thought I was going to get bounced out of the car. If only one mile under or over it wouldn't do it. I got my tires balanced and rotated and an alignment done and its been peachy ever since and that shake stopped. Just my experience though...take it for what you will

RE: Please help!
Thank you! I know it is not tire balance because when I give gas it feels like drive shaft rattles and engin does not speed up like it sould be.
feels like gear is not down shifting but at 70-80 mph I don;t think it needs to be down shifted.
Or it feels like drive shaft is turing slower than wheel turns.
