Point me in tge direction of a lift.
Now that I'm set on getting a discovery, the first thing I want to do is get a lift. Can anyone point me as to where I should get one from?
I'm loking at 3 or 4". It will be my daily driver but I'd rather it handle better offroad than on the road. Any suggestions?

Lucky8 is gonna have the best prices. I would go with just a 3" Im saying that from experiance with my 4" all the driveline and steering problems are not worth the extra 1" of lift. Rovertym has about the most complete 3" lift with most everything youll need.
Decent tires and a winch will get you through more than a lift will, so those wouldn't be bad initial outlays.
In order of priority"
- Recovery points
- Recovery Gear
- Winch
- Decent tires

Best thing you could do is go out wheeling a number of time and learn what you really need, not want.
What year are you looking for and what other mod's. are you planning on?
keeping it stock for a while is a good idea. I've drove mine stock for about 18 months. With some good tires and a winch I could go A LOT of places but I really like the look of a lifted rover and have to keep up with guys with bigger rigs so I'd be pulling cable a lot.
antichrist, what kind of handling issues and what steering components might need upgrading? My rover is not my primary vehicle but I do seem to drive it the most of the time since it's so comfortable. I know that will change after the lift is installed

You are a "FOOL" if you don't follow Tom's suggestion. First, you don't have one, probably never driven one off road, nor know how to drive one properly when wheeling.

Im sorry, I already know my terrain and the types of places I will wheel, honestly it doesn't matter where I go, crossing a fallen tree with not enough lift is IMPOSSIBLE. Im not going to have a winch anytime soon. I have bottomed out in small potholes around here with a 3" lift and 33" tires. Sure go around the hole sounds like a good idea, but when its invisible because its covered with light dirt and grass then its kinda hard to go around it.
I know what I want, looks is another reason. But yes I AM lifting it as soon as I can because I KNOW that I will need it.
Not to mention mud, which sadly is almost all we have around here, its impossible to get through some of this stuff with a stock setup and tires.
As for not knowing how to drive one when offroading..
Seriously I know yall love your discovery's I do to, which is why Im getting one. But really, a vehicle is a vehicle, I don't really see how im going to have to drive differently.. I know my departure angles and my aproach angles, I know the break over and I know the ground clearance of my frame and the ground clearance of my axles. I know the degree of rollover and vehicle weight.
Before hitting me with the your ignorant posts, please post some examples of what exactly im going to need to learn to drive one of these, that is DIFFERENT from most other vehicles.
get a 3" ome for $650 from Lucky8. also get a steering stabilizer.
it doesnt require as many mods at the 3" RTE because the shocks dont have as much travel. but it will give quite a boost to your capability, good enough for 98% folks.
