Default Possibility Reusing of a Valley Pan Gasket and Seals after Installation

Hello everyone.

I have an oil leak that is possibly from doing a sloppy job during installation of the lower intake valley pan gasket and seals.

If I tear down to the valley pan gasket and seals and identify the leak is it possible to gently remove the gasket and seals, clean them up, and reinstall them with more care?

My hope is I can gently pry the gasket and seals clean them up with the proper solvents and replace.

Anyone have any recommendations or maybe they have done this before with positive results?

The metal gaskets, if the coating material stays intact, can be reused with a spray of copper coat on either side of the mating surfaces. If the coating on the gasket comes off in places I would recommend replacing.... But I've been known to do a *very* thin wipe of RTV and reuse them anyway.

Thanks for the help man. Is there a preferred maker
of Valley Pan Gasket you recommend or does it not matter at all?

You're gonna want to replace it if not done recently. The coating on them comes off and falls into the engine. Not good.

I've not seen much difference between them - go for what's cheap.
