Default Possible parts car or fixer

Been looking at this Disco near me for a few days.
Tempted to buy it and tow it home.
I have looked at it, it does start when jumped and actually runs pretty nice.
It won't do anything when put into drive or reverse. I checked the tcase position, doesn't make any difference.

I can probably pick it up for $700 and another $80 for towing.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

They should pay you to haul it off. IMO, offer $500 cash. That plus $800 to trailor it and you are already in $1300.

$400.00 tops. Paint is rough, the obvious repairs are half-a**...so what others exist, trans job is not a fun repair on these things. Keep the project worthwhile, to you.

Good stuff, thanks for the input.
I'll see what I can do.

Look at it and see if it is leaking trans fluid - low fluid level will result in no movement with no permanent damage.

Trans are cheap because they almost never go bad. Heavy as hell though, you need a trans jack. I would recommend $500 too - rent a u-haul trailer and trailer it home
