Default Missing SAI and components??????

Do you recommend having a SAI in a cold region like Michigan? I think i should install one for the winter and fall or summer would be the best time.

It looks my SAI pump and valve solenoid are missing or was never installed.

Also do you know what is missing from the SMALL OVAL CIRCLE??
it is a broke overflow hose to the coolant reservoir.

Thanks

I would avoid SAI... Living in Indiana, I have no problems without SAI. Many came from the factory without it. Just more crap to break IMHO...

That hose in the small circle is the coolant overflow hose. It appears to be twisted about 95 or 100 degrees from it's intended position. If you look closely at the side of the coolant tank, just below where that hose attaches, you will see a little clip that it is suppose to snap into. Problem is, that hose tends to straighten out over time and pull itself out of that little clip...

The opening of the hose is intended to face down, and it is not broken... it's cut with that angle on it from the factory...

OK cold out will not start.
Rovertech1 is right on. SAI will not affect the starting ability.

I would (when the rover has sat all night in the cold)
bang on the fuel tank to jostle the fuel pump while someone else cranks the engine via the key.

That may be it.
Lazy fuel pump going bad.

I would also put in some of that white gas additive to take out moisture.
Michigan is cold cold cold.

Default Thanks

OK i never had a problem starting the rover when it was (-30F) out with windchills, started after 3-5 secs of trying, since it was super cold.

Thanks for the input.
