Pulled out the thermostat, ran the motor, ran a bit warmer, hot rodded it, took temps ... never overheated, lost a bit more coolant than normal and white smoke was a bit thicker at higher rpms ....

didn't fix my cracked cylinder sleeve

(with thermostat out, i hooked up a trailer and went and picked up my new motor)

haha

Thanks. That was like an itch in the middle of my back you just scratched Keep us posted on the new motor. I'm curious to learn if you really dropped a sleeve in the current motor too. You planning to take it apart for a looksee?

Yah im definitly taking it apart, gonna build up the motor (horsepower time, woot)

if it is the sleeve, get new ones pounded in, get heads re-checked for cracks ... intake checked, use same headgasket and stretch bolts, and bore the motor out .... bigger pistons, possibly stroke it ....
