Default power

Hi

My Disco 2 TD5 has 415 000 KM on the clock and it is still in a fairly good condition and a daily runner, although I have some issues with loss of power especially in its first gear when pulling away on elevated slopes or driveways before the turbo kicks in.

I have tested the turbo boost and it is 1.3 bar

I have also notice that it does have compression issues that are noticeable when leaving the oil plug open and also can be seen leaking out of the tapped covers half moon gasket (also causing oil leaks in this area).

I am concerned that the Los of power is leading to a complete engine rebuild although the engine sounds great and the car drives amazingly on the highway but is a complete irritation with city and suburb driving.

What can be the issue here?

Well, loss of compression certainly hinder performance.
