Default Power Steering Pump Leaking

So, After replacing the t-case with an 04 setup.( Thanks Abran! ) I get the truck home and its dripping power steering fluid. The pump started whining alot. Anyway is there a preference when it comes to replacing the pump? Rock Auto, Ebay, AB? I'll replace the hoses also since I gotta take everything apart and probably the pully as well. . Thanks for any input...

AB has a fantastic power steering pump instal video... it was painless.

got my pump on amazon.

buy a fluid extractor they cost like 5 bucks and suck out as much fluid as you can before you remove the hoses so you don’t make a mess.

change your pulleys and tensioner and belt while you’re at it they are all reasonably priced on amazon.

Im gonna follow the AB video. Not much simpler than that. What brand of pump did you get from amazon?

It’s been a good purchase ever since... just got back from a 7 day 1,000 mile trip and it’s held up great. But like I said I also changed all the pulleys and tensioner. I have a water pump ready to be installed just haven’t figured out when I’m gonna do it since I’m changing out thermostat and some hoses. (Peace of mind project)

If its leaking out the.back just reseal it. Take the back off, add some gasket sealer to the clear plastic gasket and put it back together.

The bolts aren't tight at all on the back so dont tighten the bolts or you'll freeze up the pump. You'll see what I mean when you take the pump off.
