Default Problems with my Disco 11 99

Hello Guys, I am having problems with my Disco 11 99 model with 111k miles.
Anytime front and rear sunroofs are leaking, and abytime it rains my interior ends up getting soaked.
Also recently, the engine does not go more than 40 mph, if I try to, it starts to drag, and the service engine light starts to blink. I have changed the plugs and changed the fuel pump to no avail, will be very grateful for any suggestions as I am close to sending the car to the scrap yard!

What kind of gas are you using? Are you using premium? Have you checked your speed sensor?
The computer has a speed limiter the sending unit goes bad and sends a false signal to the computer and the ECU thinks that you are going to fast and therefore cuts power to the engine.

Click on tech at the top of the page and then scroll down the left side of the screen and look for vehicle speed sensor.
Hope this helps.

Stop throw parts at the truck until you know what is wrong with it. Have you tried getting the codes read, if not do so and get back to us with those fault code numbers.
As for the sun roofs, sound like both have either plug drain tubes or the tubes have fallen off. Either way you need to have some one fix that quickly before you ruin your head liner also.

He has a D2. They use the ABS sensors as well, not as cut and dried as a D1.

ohiabu : have the codes read like Mike said and get back on here...

Not sure if the sluggish performance got fixed. I had the same problem in my 99 DII, very sluggish past 40MPH and fault codes said bad O2 sensors. It took it to my local landy guru (hard to find in Montana!) who replaced the airflow sensor for something like $50, and problem solved. Turned out the K&N filter i installed had throughly plugged the airflow sensor with oily dirt. I hadn't serviced it in more than a year and the dry dusty weather up here finally got to it. I prolly could have cleaned out the old one with alcohol, but was just as happy to not need new O2 sensors, which as REAL $$ to replace. The mechancs reco'ed i ditch the K&N so went back to paper air filters and replace ever 6 mo, no problems since. i also check the cleanliness of the airflow sensor when i change the air filter.

You will probably still have to replace the MAF, since Bosch MAF's tend to fail when being cleaned.
