Default A proper engine flush

Since Rovin4life (he's a Rover tech)is always talking about this stuff I thought I'd give it a try.
So I bought the BG 109 and MOA oil change kit off of e-bay.
Followed the direction's on the can and did my regular oil change.
The only thing I would have done different would be to buy a cheap oil filter and oil and after doing the BG 109 change the oil using the cheap oil and filter, run the engine for 15 min and then change it again using the oil and filter of your choice.
The BG 109 smells like carb cleaner, I dont know if thats what it is or not, but thats what it smells like.

That is the proper way to do a engine flush.

I have a lot of regard for the BG line of products. I have done video work for them occasionally and a colleague of mine has done the lion's share of their video and television production for years. We've watched as a couple of executives advanced through the company. They make first rate products.

This is my first experience with them, I was not having any problems with my truck but with 220,000 miles I thought what could it hurt?
So I did it, I have yet to drive my truck so I cant say if it made any difference or not.

I have used the same products, but think I would like to try their number 120, which is a whole quart of material for engine flush/purge.

My thoughts?
I'm doing it to my wifes van.
My truck does not run any better, it uses less oil, its not quieter, its not nosier, is it cleaner?
I dont know, but my truck was not a basket case to begin with and has always been well cared for.
Would I recommend it?
Yes.

Why not?
If its a "new to you" car and you have no idea what the service history is it would help to clean things out, loosen sticky valves, free stuck rings, etc.
I have spoken to many techs and they all recommend it every 100k.
I did not do a compression test before or after so I have no idea if it helped compression or not.
My truck does not seem to have more power, I still get the same MPG, shes still starts each and everytime I turn the key.
I have no idea what my oil pressure was before or what it is now.
I figured with 220k on her it would not hurt anything and may even help.
I might have different results with the wifes van, it has less miles and is overhead cam.
If you want to do a engine flush do it this way NOT with ATF.

I used the same BG combination on my last oil change...
The oil came out blacker than I ever seen after the 15-20 minute drive.
Oil change and BG service was done about 1000 miles ago and all is good...
oil on the dipstick still nice light honey color.
I figure I may do it again next change for good measures.
NAPA here in Denver has the BG products in stock and was out the door at $20.

Save your money buy a quart of kerosene for 4.99 and two ounces 30 minutes before you do your oil changes.

Your mileage will not improve, your truck will not run better, and your oil pressure and compression may not get better.

But you will get blacker oil out as it dissolves and breaks down any sluge that may be in there.
