Ok just a few questions about CDL, my discoII is CDL capable and all I would need to do is add the linkage from a disco I and was even thinking of adding an actuator, then I was knocking about the ARB web site and saw the air lockers they have for the disco my question is what are the pros and con of going ARB instead of just going with a OEM set up. Thanks in advance for your help..

The CDL only acts on the T-case. It locks the front and rear drive shafts together. The ARB lockers lock either the front or rear diff, wherever you put it. Right now, without traction control, you could spin one wheel. I would start with a solenoid actuated CDl then move to the ARB if needed.

NO
To engage the CDL, you must **** from High to High or Low lock. To prevent gear damage, shift to Low lock from a stand still or shift from Low to high under 10 MPH.
What type of 4 wheeling will you be doing, do you need something as hard core as the ARB lockers, have you thought about a Detroit or better yet True Trac's?

I planed on doing some trails locally, a bit of rock crawling, and then a few cross country trips with a friend, I also would like to unleash the hidden potential of my Disco. being a Marine and having driven the military version of the hummer, I was not to impressed by the Civilian version, and I had owned rovers in the past and have loved their ruggedness which far supersedes most any 4 wheeler I have driven, the only reason I choose the ARB is because a friend of mine was visiting from Melbourne and she told me that ARB would be best suited for my ride, do you know how big the price difference would be for the other lockers you mentioned and of course performance.

So here are my rough numbers,
2 ARB , pump and HD rear axles installed $3250
One Detroit, one TT and HD rear axle installed $ 2650
Two True Trac's and labor, no HR axles required $1950
Give me a shout if you want to talk about the prices , the differences and any questions.
By the way, I run a Detroit and a TT.
