Default Pulling problem

I recently purchased a used 2003 Discovery SE. IT has about 46,000 miles on it. I have noticed that the steering wheel will pull to the left or right upon slowing down. It is fine at normal speeds or on the highway but when driving slow or breaking it seems to have a mind of its own. It doesn't happen all the time but enough to be pretty obnoxious. Has any one else experienced this or know what the problem might be?

I would check your brake pads/rotors, or perhaps your brake fluid. It sound like either uneven wear on your brake pads, or possible a leak in your brake line. If one side is grabbing more than the other, it will cause the vehicle to veer in that direction. A good place to start, anyway . . .

Thanks guys...I will check that out. I've started to notice that it does it while driving also, I don't even have to be touching the breaks. This makes me think it could be something else but I'll check that out first.

My Disco was doing the same thing and the inside tires were wearing.
I took it to the dealer for alinement they found the ball joint on the
powersteering that controls the front end was bad.
The alinement was 55$ the other work was 100$.
I had called another place for a alinement and they
had wanted 150$. lol Mike.

The dealer did a repair and it only cost $150? Jeez. That's about what they charge for an oil change out here.

As with any vehicle my day may come when I must
pay the big bucks. But most things are not that complex.
I just need to find good OBDII software for this one, I have vag-com
for my car and it works great.
