I have previously owned a 1999 discovery then a 2007 LR3. My LR3 was in an accident last month and the other driver's insurance deemed a total loss, so I'm looking to buy my next Rover. I'm driving 3 hours to go look at a 2001 Discovery which I know has the three amigos, no heat (owner did a heater core bypass) and has a mysterious purple color all over the engine. It's a good price which includes the rack, bumper, sliders, snorkel and some extra parts but this purple engine is concerning to me. What do you think it is? Do you think this is paint or royal purple oil spewing everywhere or something else?
