Push Button Start
Figured I would give an update. I have been running this system in both my 2001 and my 2003 without any issues for well over a year. I did have an issue in my 2003 where I had a battery drain and it made the start a bit buggy. That is when I found out that the sensor based system will allow you to hold the button down and it continues to send the signal to the starter till it starts. I just switched my 2003 to the passive system with the key fob and remote start. I was having an issue with the system only sending a pulse to the starter and it was a bugger to get started sometimes but the remote start was flawless. I did some research and found you can program the system to extend the pulse. After doing that it was gold. Now I never have to pull out my key. Just jump in, push the button and we are running. Living in Michigan I have to say the remote start is super nice. The only bummer is having BOTH the door lock and the start fob on my key chain is a bit of a pocket full. I am currently trying to figure out how to put the two together. The directions do show that the unit will send the proper signal to the existing system, I just haven't figured out how to make that work. It will take someone smarter than me.
